Service Ministries

serviceBaking
Parishioners who supply home-baked goods for special parish celebrations and events.

Christian Service
Parish members who meet monthly to serve the temporal needs of our parish community and beyond. Projects include shelter programs, parish and community food drives, the annual Crop Walk, Thanksgiving food collection, Christmas gift collections, and special sponsorship events throughout the year.

Church Care
Parishioners clean and care for the church interior, launder altar linens, and decorate for the liturgical seasons.

Clerical Help
Volunteers respond when extra assistance is needed in the parish office to help answer the telephone, assemble mailings and perform other clerical duties.

Finance Committee
The committee has the responsibility of advising the Pastor on the fiscal policies of the parish. They assist in the creation of the budget for the parish and the financial report that must be submitted to the Diocese of Paterson. The committee also helps in the special fundraisers the parish conducts to meet extraordinary needs.

Fund Raising
This committee is responsible for the coordination of the various fundraising programs. 

Golf Outing
Parish members who plan, coordinate, and recruit sponsors for the annual May golf outing.

Home & Hospital Visits
Volunteers visit parishioners who need spiritual home care. Arrangements for such visits must be made by contacting the rectory.

Knights of Columbus (K of C)
The John F. Kennedy Council # 5486 has as its mission is to encourage charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism among the men of the parish.

Lazarus Ministry
Members of the parish family who provide support, prayer, and comfort to those who have experienced the recent loss of a loved one. The members attend funerals, send notes of condolence, and organize the annual Mass of Remembrance, celebrated around All Souls' Day.

Legion of Mary
A worldwide lay organization that engages in outreach. There are meetings and a few hours of apostolic work each week.

Media Ministry
This ministry is responsible for distributing articles and pictures about St. Joseph's events to the local media, such as the Beacon and other local news outlets, along with keeping these articles and pictures as an archive. 

Office Technology
Members of the parish with experience in computers (hardware and software), as well as other office automation systems, volunteer their time and talent to assist the Pastor and the staff in the maintenance and upgrade of parish office technology.

Social Activities
Members enhance the parish community through fun-filled, interesting, and entertaining events.

Warming Bee
Parishioners meet on Tuesday afternoons to knit and crochet items for nursing home residents, infants, and those in need using materials donated by members of the parish. The items can be made in your home as well as at the meetings.
