Baking
Sharing their talents as bakers, these volunteers-both men and women - of the parish prepare and supply home baked goods for special parish celebrations and events.
Christian Service
This committee of parishioners meets monthly to serve the temporal need and provides service to those of our parish community and beyond. As a group they participate, on a regular basis, with the "Morris County Interfaith Homeless Shelter" and the yearly "Crop Walk for hunger. They organize a parish wide Thanksgiving food basket collection, supervise distribution of "Pennies for the Poor," arrange a Christmas gift collection for the Lincoln Park Nursing homes, and coordinate our "Adopt a Family" for Christmas effort. They also participate in the Lincoln Park Food Pantry.
Church Care
The members of the parish who help clean and care for the church comprise this ministry. They tend to the weekly cleaning of the church interior, its flowers, plants and the laundering of altar linens. They also assist with decorating the church for special seasons.
Clerical Help
This group of volunteers responds when extra assistance is needed in the parish office to help answer the telephone, assembling mailings and performing other clerical duties.
Finance Committee
The committee has the responsibility of advising the Pastor on the fiscal policies of the parish. They assist in the creation of the budget for the parish and the financial report that must be submitted to the Diocese of Paterson. The committee also helps in the special fundraisers the parish conducts to meet extraordinary needs.
Fund Raising & Golf Outing
This committee is responsible for the coordination of the various fund raising programs such as the golf outing, calendar raffles and other programs.
Home & Hospital Visits
Volunteers visit parishioners who are in need of spiritual home care. Arrangements for such visits must be made by contacting the rectory.
Knights of Columbus (K of C)
The John F. Kennedy Council # 5486 has approximately 100 members and their mission is to encourage charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism among the men of the parish.
Lazarus Ministry
Members of the parish family who provide support, prayer and comfort to those who have experienced the loss of a loved one comprise this ministry. The members attend funerals, send notes of condolence and organize the annual Mass of Remembrance, celebrated around All Souls' Day.
Media Ministry
This ministry is responsible for distributing articles and pictures about St. Joseph's events to the local media, such as the Beacon and other local news outlets, along with keeping these articles and pictures as an archive. They also produce a slide show for our Appreciation Dinner.
Office Technology
Members of the parish with experience in computers (hardware and software), as well as other office automation systems, volunteer their time and talent in assisting the Pastor and the staff in the maintenance and upgrade of parish office technology.
Social Activities
The purpose of the social activities committee is to help develop and enhance our community through fun filled, interesting and entertaining events for all. Some of our past scheduled events include:
Warming Bee
This ministry is a group of volunteers who meet every Tuesday afternoon (providing flexibility for all involved) and knit and crochet items for nursing home residents, hats for premature infants, and assorted items for the poor. The various materials are donated from among the parishioners.
