LED BY THE SPIRIT
We know the story of Jesus' temptations very well. The Lord ventures out into the wilderness for 40 days - a time He needs to spend alone in the presence of His Father. We imagine that He needed this time to fast, to reflect, to pray and to prepare. Cleverly and relentlessly, the spirit of evil presents Jesus with some alternative choices and Jesus is tempted to betray, to compromise, to prefer self to others and to prefer his own desires over God's promise of Life.
