CHRISTIAN SERVICE PROJECTS
GIVING TREE: Our “Giving “Tree” Christmas project begins the weekend of November 15th & 16th. We provide gift cards for adults and adolescents, and focus on gifts for younger children. Ornaments are available on display boards in the back of he church. Please sign your name and phone number in the book next to the corresponding gift number on your chosen ornament. Please return all gifts with the ornament attached (unwrapped) returned by the weekend of December 14th & 15th. It is helpful to put gift cards in a small gift bag. If you have any questions, contact Mary Bono at 973.696.9713 or Lois Moeller at 201.572.1646. We also welcome cash donations. Thank you and God bless you for your ongoing generosity.

RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS
Religious communities are financially responsible for the support and care of all members. Income, earnings and expenses are managed separately from the parish and diocesan structures of the Catholic Church. Many small communities struggle to care for elderly members due to a lack of financial resources and personnel. There are nearly 30,000 elderly sisters, brothers and religious order priests in the United States. They educated the young, tended the sick, and ministered to the needy.Today, they pray for a world that is hurting. Your gift to the Retirement Fund for Religious offers vital support for necessities, such as medications and nursing care. The Collection will be the weekend of December 13th & 14th. Thank you for your
donations. -
NATIONAL DONOR MONTH
An Interfaith Celebration of Life and Thanksgiving
The month of November, normally associated with giving thanks, is also home to National Donor Sabbath. This awareness month marks a special time across the country when clergy and their congregations unite to help spread the word about the gift of life. Religious leaders around the state are encouraged to address the importance of registering to be an organ and tissue donor. Many faith leaders also recognize that there are members within their own congregations who have been touched by organ and tissue donation or are in need of a life-saving transplant. Throughout November, information regarding organ and tissue donation from the NJ Sharing Network will be on the tables in back of church. NJ Sharing Network works yearround to educate New Jersey residents about the critical need for more organ and tissue donors. May your faith fill you with compassion to donate the gift of life. Please register online today at www.njsharingnetwork.org. Pope Francis has said that 'Organ donation is a testimony of love for our neighbour'. -
NURSING HOME
The Christmas season is fast approaching, and once again through the generosity of the parishioners at St. Joseph’s Church, the Christian Service Committee will be collecting gifts for the residents of the Lincoln Park Nursing Home. Most of these residents would not receive gifts at Christmas if it were not for our parish. Our list of gift suggestions are:
• Men: socks, slippers and T-shirts (L, XL, 2XL)
• Women: socks, slippers, tops (M & L)
• Other items: toiletry bags, dental items, deodorant, moisturizer and hand cream. Also,
Word Search, pens, note pads, coloring books and crayons, Chapstick, soft blanket throws.Gifts should be returned wrapped and labeled (man or woman and what’s inside) and placed on the windowsills in church. All gifts should be returned by the weekend of December 14th & 15th. Any questions, call Meg Williams at 201.675.4802.

FR. ENGLISH FOOD PANTRY
The Fr. English Food Pantry in Paterson donation box is located in the back of the church. Please be sure to check expiration dates before donating, as we cannot accept expired food. In the past, we’ve received items that were significantly out of date and had to be discarded. Let’s ensure our generosity truly helps those in need. Thank you for your continued support!
